I Didn't Say It ....

President Barack Obama, in his 2012 Victory Speech:
"What makes America exceptional are the bonds that hold together the most diverse nation on earth. The belief that our destiny is shared; that this country only works when we accept certain obligations to one another and to future generations. I have always believed that hope is that stubborn thing inside us that insists, despite all the evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us so long as we have the courage to keep reaching, to keep working, to keep fighting....I believe we can keep the promise of our founders, the idea it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from or what you look like or who you love. It doesn’t matter whether you’re black or white or Hispanic or Asian or Native American or young or old or rich or poor, able, disabled, gay or straight, you can make it here in America."

That pretty much sums up why he won.
One party sought to keep us all separated, while Obama seeks to bring us together.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson, kissing off his so-called “fans”—the anti-LGBT ones—on Facebook:
"As an actor I have learned that I have to develop a thick skin but as a HUMAN I am having a harder time. The amount of vitriol I have received in the past few days over my stance on marriage equality could kill an adult horse! The majority of my fans have been amazing & supportive. But I am in shock and ashamed of many of my 'fans' who are standing firm in their stance that I am 'less than' them because of my sexual orientation. To those who feel this way: I gladly show you the door and wish you well on your journey."

You have the right to your opinion, but if your opinion is discrimination, well, just move along …..

Joy Behar, on GOProud:
"I don’t understand the GOProud people either. Why are they voting for someone who’s against gay marriage, gays in the military? The Republican platform wants to roll back into 'don’t ask, don’t tell.' I mean, that is completely retro. It’s not all about your pocketbook, guys. I guess they feel their money will protect them from homophobia. A lot of people felt that way, in like Germany, for example."

I can understand conservatism, but I cannot understand anyone supporting any party that practices discrimination of any kind.
I guess, for me, money isn’t everything.

Donald Trump, on President Obama not stooping to his level of idiocy:
“For President Obama not to accept five million dollars (or much more) for his favorite charity can only mean one thing – the records are very bad.  Obviously he wasn’t born in this country or, if he was, he said he wasn’t in order to receive financial aid and in order to have a clear and very easy path into a college or university.  Only a very stupid person would believe otherwise. There can be no other reason that so much money would not be so easily and routinely collected for charity."

Or, maybe he realizes you’re just a host of a “reality” show and why even bother to acknowledge you?
You’ve lost it, Ronald McDonald Trump. You have officially jumped the shark, your dead rat scarcely moving from your head.

Luke Robinson, "Pastor", on the cause of Hurricane Sandy being New York City mayor, Mike Bloomberg, and his donation to marriage equality in Maryland:
"So here was the mayor of New York giving a quarter of a million dollars, coming down to Maryland discussing the matter. While he’s here somebody whispers in the ear, you better go back home and protect your stock because God is sending judgment. The thing came through the area. You have to understand the season and the time. It’s almost the end of hurricane season, but God sent one of the biggest hurricanes ever. The storm came through here, but for the glory of God the storm didn’t tear us up because we got that hope for us.  So with all of your money you still can’t win if God says he’s on our side."

Um, “pastor”? And I use that term loosely.
Maybe “God” sent the hurricane to shut the likes of you up? Maybe God sent the hurricane to warn you that a change is coming to this country and you best get with the program.
Or, maybe it was just bad weather.
Ass.

Maggie Gallagher, NOM Hellhound, on the smackdown the voters gave them regarding marriage equality:
"The Obama electorate defeated marriage. I’m guessing we lose at least three of tonight’s four races, and maybe four of the four. We were outspent eight-to-one—and no one was willing to speak for marriage, while the whole Democratic establishment and Hollywood campaigned for marriage. Last night really is a big loss, no way to spin it."

The spending doesn’t matter, Maggie.
What matters is that you’re wrong, hateful, divisive and deluded, and the country is tired of you and Little Boy Brian.
Now, be gone before someone drops a house on you.

Ari Fleischer, former W spokes-tool, on how the GOP can come back:
"The big issue that Republicans are going to have to wrestle with is the Hispanic issue. It's not the social issues. You're not going to make the party pro-choice and pro-gay rights and think you've made the Republican party the party that's the popular party. We have a party like that. It's the Democratic Party."

This is why the Democrats won, Ari.
The GOP stayed back in the 1950s, discriminating against The Gays, the Latinos, and deciding they, and only they, should be able to tell a woman what to do with their bodies.
The GOP better change soon, or else they’ll be losing more often.

Chris Kluwe, Minnesota Viking punter and LGBT-advocate/ally/hero, on Minnesota’s same-sex marriage ban going down in flames, and on marriage equality:
"Together, we made a statement that America is tired of division. America is tired of discrimination, of exclusion, and of unthinking oppression—the belief that people have to live their lives according to someone else's views rather than their own free will. Together, we made sure that the world our children will grow up in is one step closer to tolerance, love, and equality; a world where our children can make their own choices instead of being shackled to dusty hate from the past."

It’s always been baby steps, but Tuesday we took several baby steps all at once.
It’s a good feeling.

  1. Dear Donald, I can provide my Canadian birth certificate and I already accessed my college transcripts for grad school. You are welcome to everything and I'd like $5 million sent to Megalomaniacs Anonymous so you can get some help.

The GOP will be back. Sadly, they'll just find a more genteel way to discriminate and hate. But all they'll do is win offices in the South and shitholes like Arizona from here on out.

And Blogger, prove to me you're not an asshole by not scrunching those stupid CAPCHA letters so they overlap.
